This was my first visit to see Spurs and of course my first visit to White Hart Lane. I do not remember many details but do recall the journey to and from Northumberland Park by train from Harlow Town.
The record books show a 2-0 victory for Spurs in front of a 28,708 crowd, courtesy of Martin Chivers and a Peter Morris own goal. Your ten year old correspondent was delighted with the result and his rosette!This was a decent season for Spurs finnishing 3rd in the League, Quarter finalists in the FA Cup and winning the League Cup for the first time against Aston Villa at Wembley.
